Bree, aka sweatbeast
Finally got a chance to go out to the barn today. It was so hot and sunny out... Just picking out Bree's feet was making me sweat. We went out on the trail and rode down to the park's riding arena. At first Bree was a bit of a bag but once she got used to the surroundings she settled and started listening to my aids. She was really floaty and nice today... she just felt really different for some reason. We worked on some extensions since that seemed to be what she wanted to do, and WOW she was lovely! I only rode in the arena for about 15 minutes because it was so hot... and as the title suggests, she got pretty sweaty.
When I got back, I hosed Bree down really really well (basically bathed her sans soap). And then grazed her for a while. The horses still have not been turned out to grass so she is pretty crazy for it at this point.... which reminds me.. Yesterday I got an email from the Barn Manager that Bree had ripped the protective covering off a cedar tree by her pen... and then was leaning on her fence really bad and broke it. They replaced the covering and Bree was STILL going through it. BRAT. I think she just really wants pasture time though.
